Daisuke Miyazaki
Daisuke Miyazaki was born in 1980 in Yokohama, Kanagawa. He started making films when he was studying at Waseda University. In 2004, he participated in the summer school of New York University that took place in Japan. His thesis "The 10th Room" won the Christine Choi Award which is the grandprix at the KUT Film Festival held by the NYU. His following film "Love Will Tear Us Apart" was invited to the special screening at the Image Forum Film Festival 2006, which is the largest experimental film festival in Japan. After attending Leos Carax's film "Meld" (2008) as a production designer assistant, he started working as an assistant director in the commercial film industry. So far, Miyazaki has worked for many directors who represent modern Japanese cinema such as Kiyoshi Kurosawa and Kunitoshi Manda. "End of the Night" will be his first feature film.
